Dr. Melanie L. Six, D.C., owner and founder of Six Chiropractic, began her practice in 2003, with the vision of helping people achieve their overall health and wellness. She incorporates specific chiropractic techniques to correct aberrant biomechanics of the spine and extremities, as well as physical modalities for rehabilitation. She’s also a credentialed provider of Active Release Technique (ART), a soft tissue massage technique.
Dr. Six maintains her license to practice chiropractic from the Virginia Board of Medicine and the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. She is a diplomat of the National Board of Chiropractic Practice Examiners, and a member of the American Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Six graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA, in 1998, where she was mentored by some of the most respected chiropractors in the country. Palmer is considered The Fountainhead, as it was the first school of chiropractic in the world. Born and raised in Syracuse, N.Y., Dr. Six also received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Lemoyne College in 1994.
In her spare time, Dr. Six enjoys bicycling with her family, and participating in triathlons (Ironman 70.3 and Olympic distance), as well as road and running races.

Amy E. Smith, certified massage therapist (CMT), has been with Six Chiropractic for the past three years. Her focus is on Swedish and medical massage techniques.
Smith became nationally certified in September 1998, and soon after, opened her own massage practice in Arlington, Va. She relocated to Dr. Six’s office in 2005. With more than 10 years in the field, Smith is committed to helping people relieve stress, so they can live better, healthier lives.
